SASR Troops organised as three Patrols of six , plus a three man HQ . SASR Recon Patrols where often only four men, but larger combat groups also conducted area ambushes, assaults against High value targets (eg. mountaintop VC Radio stations and the legendary “tractor job”), and multiple-patrol search operations.

Just add 9th Sqn RAAF, Army aviation , a Signals detachment sitting back at the TOC listening to radios 24/7 , copious Close Air Support  , and long range heavy artillery (if it’s within range) .
